“The Lìndal Supreme” Icelandic Saddle and “The Lìndal Supreme LS” for Icelandic and large shouldered horses.

These Saddles have been created for Icelandic horses in particular, and it has taken us many years of thought, and design, to create a saddle that fits their tricky conformation perfectly.

The LS version is a revelation for those of you with larger shouldered horses (see full LS information below) and suits Icelandic horses especially.

Both saddles include:

• A beautiful, soft and comfortable padded seat. Below lies the latest cutting edge materials, this makes for the most comfortable rides imaginable. Quilted seat is also an optional extra (see photo 1)
• We make this saddle with the superb Contour Master™ wide, weight bearing panels. They offer great fit, balance and comfort for the horse, because they absorb pressure ensuring the horse is free from discomfort and thereby improving performance immensely. This panel is also designed to place more panel on your horses back and therefore spreading the bodyweight of the rider and their chosen kit. This creates even pressure and eliminates the pressure points, and other issues, that cause so many back problems in our horses. The Contour Master™ Wide Panel, a truly innovative idea that is perfect for longer rides.
• Also available flocked with English Lambs Wool, which allows use to alter the panel as the horse changes shape.
• Girth strap arrangements including long dressage style “Y” system or the more traditional 3 or 4 strap arrangement.

The LS Cutaway, Freedom Shoulder Panel, Icelandic Saddle (For Large Shouldered Horses)

In our ground breaking design, we cut-away the panel to accommodate the larger shouldered horse . The “Cut-away” panels (see last photo) then sits behind the shoulder, not on it! This gives your horse much more freedom to move and tölt as they should.

The knee rolls/blocks are placed on top of the flaps, not beneath them, away from the horses shoulder too. This combination is perfect for the rider who wants a more forward flap but whose horse has large shoulders. This saddles panels and knee roll will not hinder the horses movements and will not be constantly pushed back by the horse. The knee block size can be discussed, when we make your bespoke saddle.

This design enables us to cut the top flap more forward, for those of you with long legs and those who like to ride shorter, giving you more room, as the top flap “floats” above the shoulder. Compared to traditional saddles, this massively lessens shoulder restriction and the horse will move better than ever before!
